The OHF Polar Plunge Fundraiser Slated for Early November
Woodstock, VT, October 3, 2019 – To help support its mission, The Ottauquechee Health Foundation (OHF) announces its first annual Polar Plunge fundraiser event, taking place on November 9th at the Kedron Valley Inn in South Woodstock. The Polar Plunge will raise funds to support OHF’s programs that provide financial support to members of the community who require help paying for health and wellness needs such as medical, mental health, and dental care.
“We are always looking for new and exciting ways to raise awareness around our mission while involving the community at large,” said Tayo Kirchhof, OHF’s executive director. “This event is something new for OHF, taking us—and the people who volunteer—way outside our comfort zone.”
People can take the plunge into the cold Kedron Pond on their own or as part of a team. Registered plungers will receive a free towel and t-shirt commemorating their jump, hot cocoa and snacks. Prizes will be awarded to plungers with the best jump, best costume, best team spirit, as well as to the top three fund-raisers. For people who don’t want to plunge, there are opportunities to sponsor plungers, including some prominent community members.
The OHF Polar Plunge festivities start at 1pm with the actual plunge at 1:30pm. There will be hot drinks, hot food, fire pits, live music, and lots of energy and fun for all involved. All sponsorships and food sale proceeds will directly benefit OHF. Come to jump, come to watch, or come to volunteer!
