Mark Boutwell
Board Member
Mark has worked in nonprofit social agencies in Vermont and New Hampshire for more than 35 years. He is currently the executive director of Senior Solutions, the Council on Aging for Southeastern Vermont.
In addition to working with older Vermonters, Mark has managed programs for people suffering from chronic and persistent mental illness and for those with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
Mark is a trained Person-Centered Planning options counselor and a geriatric care coordinator with certification through the national Aging Life Care Association. He has expertise in nonprofit management, leadership development, and team building.
He is a member of the Vermont Governor’s Commission on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders and an active participant in community health care planning with numerous social service agencies across the Upper Valley and Southeastern Vermont.
He earned a master’s degree in education with a specialization in psychiatric rehabilitation from Johnson State College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kansas at Lawrence.
Mark is active musically in the Upper Valley and has sung with the Bel Canto Chamber Singers, the Peter Concilio Jazz Trio and the Handel Society, and has given solo performances in a number of venues including in area churches and at the Upper Valley Music Center. He has also acted in community theater, including with North Country Community Theater, We the People Theatre, and Echo Valley Community Arts.
