Don moved to Bridgewater, VT, after a long veterinarian career. For 33 years, Don was the owner of Don Ryker DVM and Associates (before changing its name to Hadley Hill Equine), an equine veterinarian practice based in Michigan. Along with his decades of experience as a veterinarian, he has also been part of a plethora of organizations, including the Professional Horseman’s Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, the Equine Advisory Committee to the State Veterinarian in Michigan, and the Michigan Farm Bureau, among many others. In retirement, Don is fixing up his family cabin, hiking, snow shoeing, becoming a forester, getting better at golf and pickleball, and taking care of his border collie, all alongside his wife, Celia, a retired horse trainer, master gardener, avid thru hiker, and author.
